About Me

I am a mixed media artist whose work is deeply rooted in personal experience and a desire to provoke emotional and intellectual connections with my audience. I’ve been creating art since I could hold a pencil, growing up in a lower-income household where art was the only outlet I had consistent access to. For years, I tried to create art I thought would sell, focusing on what others wanted rather than what truly resonated with me. But I’ve since realized that this approach doesn’t align with my purpose as an artist. My current work is fueled by raw emotion and an intense exploration of personal traumas, political tensions, and the human condition.

Using a combination of pencils, charcoal, and other traditional media, I craft thought-provoking scenarios that blend reality with fiction. My art is influenced by the work of pioneers like Gammell, Rembrandt, and Goya, but my focus is on creating textures that pop and shadows that draw you in, allowing each piece to evoke deep emotional responses. I aim to help viewers connect with their inner selves, challenging them to reflect on the world around them.

Having worked through the complexities of my childhood, I strive to create a safe space for others to connect with their own inner demons. My hope is that, through my art, people can find that these demons may not be as scary as they first thought. Through this process, I aspire to shift perceptions and inspire positive cultural change.

My current collection I am working on is a marriage of the past and present to show how the current situation is a repeat of previous historic events.

Hopefully with this collection you can feel a connection to our pasts and a hope for the future.

This collection of drawings was done for my final in my art class 2024. It’s what pushed me to take this seriously.
